The Meadow Broncos played an excellent game this past Friday night as they handled the West Texas Tornadoes handing them a 42-18 loss. What looked like would’ve been a tough matchup in the first few minutes ended up swinging the door widened open as the meadow defense created a turnover on downs, this would allow the team to score on a touchdown pass with 5:51 left in the first quarter. Meadow would create another turnover on downs with 3:35 left in the quarter and score a rushing touchdown with 2:13 left in the 1st.
It wouldn’t take long as the Broncos made another turnover on down with 9:54 left in the 2nd quarter. Another pass touchdown would come quickly for the team, following the score the special teams kick was good making the score 22-0. Meadow would have the Tornadoes pinned against their goal line when the Tors attempted to run the ball to get out of their endzone. This allowed the Meadow defense to tackle the tors rusher in the endzone and get a safety. Following this series, the Meadow QB would scramble and rush for a TD making the score 30-0.

In the third quarter, the Broncos D made a stand and made another turnover on downs on their five-yard line. The team would earn another rush TD with 2:04 left in the third. By the fourth quarter, the Broncos would give up their first points to the Tornadoes, making the score 36-6 with 7:28 left in the game. The next set of points for the Broncos would come off of a special team’s kick return for 6. It would not take long for West Texas to respond as their own QB would score on a scramble play, making the score 42-12. The last set of points to be earned was by the Tornadoes as they had a passing TD with 1:22. The game would in a positive fashion as both teams circled together in a moment of prayer after the clock hit double zeroes.
