Update on the second vehicle accident that occurred on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the intersection of TX ST HWY 137 and CR 480, approximately 3 miles south/southeast of Brownfield. According to law enforcement at the scene, a male driver was operating a 2024 black Ford F-150 Crewcab, traveling north in the northbound lane of Highway 137. Meanwhile, a female driver with a child passenger was driving a late-model silver Nissan Sentra south in the southbound lane of Highway 137.
As the driver of the Nissan approached the intersection of Highway 137 and CR 480, she attempted to make a left turn and failed to yield to the Ford. The Ford struck the Nissan in its right rear quarter panel, causing the Ford to roll over and come to rest right side up, facing east/southeast, approximately 115 feet from the point of impact in a field on the east side of Highway 137. The Nissan came to a stop about 90 feet from the impact, facing northeast in a field, also on the east side of Highway 137.
The driver of the Ford was transported by ambulance to BRMC. Witnesses reported that the driver of the Nissan took the child passenger and was also transported to the BRMC emergency room by an unknown individual. No names have been disclosed, and information about the condition of the drivers or the child passenger has not been released.
Terry County Sheriff’s Dept., BRMC EMS, Brownfield Fire/Rescue, TX DPS, and TxDOT responded to the scene.
