Making a Difference

Cry out to God for His peace. The news events this week, one more time, and other things going on have me just crying out to God for the peace that only He can give. There is just so much that is evil in our world. In our country. People offer great rhetoric about what laws we need to pass to stop the evil. I am not going to get political, but I am going to say this; Laws don’t change hearts. We are living in a world that is so very loudly and desperately crying out for help. But they do not know to whom they should cry. They need help but, many times don’t even recognize they need anything. They are fighting battles and have no clue who their enemy even is. We live in a broken, battered world.

We want to fight political battles to get rid of the evil. We want to argue and bluster about when things do not go what we see as “the right way.” We shut our ears to any attempts to help us find the right path. We are so closed off to recognizing that there might be another way to look at things. Oh I am so tired of it. So very tired.

There is only one thing that can right the course of our nation and our world. There is only one way to change hearts and once again protect our children. There is only one way to find peace again. That way is through Jesus Christ. The only possible answer. It doesn’t matter what your opinion is. It doesn’t matter if you think there should be more than one choice. The fact of the matter is that there is one answer and it is Jesus and that is that!

I believe this with all my heart. I woke up in the night and listened to myself quoting John 14. “Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in Me. In my father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go, I will come again to take you to be with Me that where I am there you may be also.”  He goes on in that chapter and says, “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you. I do not give peace as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and neither let them be afraid.”

Such words of comfort and peace from the very One the world needs most. What are you doing to share Jesus with those around you? You do not know which day will be your last opportunity. Do not let your loved ones struggle and search for the very answer you have in your heart for them! Do not let your loved ones go another day without knowing the Savior. If you don’t know Him, find me! Or find someone else you know that serves God. Don’t let another day go by without Him. He is the only way to make a difference in our world and in our country.

Pray for our nation.
