The Brownfield High School Spirit of the Plains band traveled to Denver City on Saturday, October 2 to compete in the 31st Annual Tumbleweed Marching Festival.
The band, newly under the direction of Will Burks, finished 2nd in the Conference 3A Division.
Burks is working hard with the band, along with his assistant band directors. Numbers are down on the high school level, but interest is high at Middle School. Burks hopes to once again build the Spirit of the Plains to its former numbers.
Even though small in number, right now, the band has a strong sound, and sharp technique.
Look for the glory days of the Spirit of the Plains to be back very soon!
