Harvest Festival Talent Show held

It was a great night of fun, dancing, and singing at the BISD Auditorium on Thursday, September 30 as the annual Harvest Festival Queen Pageant and Talent Show was held.

President of the Brownfield Chamber Board of Directors, Layne Marlow welcomed everyone to the show, and Chamber Board Secretary Gina Kelly offered the invocation.

Dave DeLeon stepped in at the last minute when the scheduled emcee had to bow at. Dave did a fantastic job. He had very little notice or time to prepare, but you would have never known it. He kept the show rocking and rolling along.

Judges for the Harvest Festival Queen Candidate Talent were former Queens – Tonia Newsom, Mallory Newsom, and Katie Loera. Also judging was Hope Kostedt.

The theme for the year is “God Blessed Texas,” and the opening number by the candidates reflected this.

The 2020 Queen Madyson Horton performed a dance routine with Taber Churchwell.

Candidates and their talent were:

Kamryon Cavazos – OPYA – doing a street jazz dance to “Can’t Stop Dancing.”

Kara Valentin – ACES – singing “Speechless.”

Gabriella Gonzalez – Noon Lions – doing a character dance to “Picture to Burn.”

Emma Jackson – Miss Brownfield Organization – doing a jazz and gymnastics dance to “Spanish Rose.”

Brianna Quilantan – Alpha Omega Organization – singing and playing the piano “I Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

Forever Elite Dance Company, Sparrow Dance Company, Kate Hesse, and Oakleigh Cudd provided other entertainment.

Kaitlian Horrell was introduced as the Queen Mother.

The Flower Princess was 2020 Holiday Little Miss Zaidree Pauda, and the Crown Bearer was Dylan Hickson.

Debbie Staudt, and her late husband Craig were honored with a presentation by Brownfield Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lorena Valencia. This plaque honored them for the service to Terry County and to the Harvest Festival.

Flower Princesses for each Candidate were:

Brynlee Castaneda – Kamryon Cavazos

Hayden Tells – Kara Valentin

Delaney Myatt – Gabriella Gonzalez

Oakleigh Cudd – Emma Jackson

Ella Swaringen – Brianna Quilantan

At the end of the evening, Gabriella Gonzalez was announced as the Miss Congeniality winner. This is voted on by the candidates.
