Kathy Lynn Irwin, 68 of Idalou passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021. She was born January 11, 1953 to Jimmie Ted and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Irwin in Big Spring, Texas. Kathy graduated from Estacado High School in 1971. She continued her education graduating from Texas Tech in 1975 with her BA in Education and her Master’s in Social work from UT in 1983. Kathy worked as a social worker and was a licensed clinical counselor. She had a green thumb and enjoyed camping, traveling. Kathy also like to quilt and was a master in needle work. Kathy was employed at the South Plains Mental Health Clinic in Brownfield for many years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Jimmie Fred Irwin and wife Barbara of Lorenzo, Elizabeth Moore and husband Ted of Lubbock; nieces and nephews, Sarah Timmons and husband Nathan, Garrett Irwin and wife Lori, Emily Green and husband Matt, and Austin Moore.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Idalou Cemetery.
