BIDCorp approves Incentive Plan

The Brownfield Industrial Development Corporation met on Monday afternoon and approved the next year’s Program of Work, which included the Mission Statement, “To promote the development and expansion of new business in Brownfield.”

The Program of Work is essentially the same as in past year’s with a few tweaks. The document states that it will support existing businesses in Brownfield, while at the same time working to bring new businesses to Brownfield.

The Board also approved the second round of Brownfield Strong COVID-19 Relief Program Incentives. The Board approved $20,000 for this which will be given out to 10 businesses at $2,000 each. Businesses have to show that their business suffered from restricted access during the shutdown. This money will be available next week. Any interested business owner who suffered shutdown during the pandemic is eligible to come in and talk to Executive Director Brian Brisendine next week. Any business which has already received funds in the first round is not eligible for this round.

The contract with the Buxton Company was extended for one more year for $15,000.

In the Sales Tax Report, it was shown that $35,647.81 was received so far in this Fiscal Year. With $49,404.67 brought in through this same time period last year. The Fiscal Year runs from October 1 – September 30, each year.

The Board went into Executive Session to end the meeting.
