  • Total infections: 671,425 (Up 31,761)
  • 56,236 recovered (Up 3,498)
  • 33,286 deaths (Up 2,301)
  • Number of new daily infections has been trending up for since April 14th
  • First time since April 10th that there have been more than 30,000 new infections in one day
  • Current mortality rate in U.S. is 5.0% (Down .1%) (Pending infections less than two weeks)

Texas: 

  • 191 Texas counties reporting cases (Up 7)
  • No longer able to report community spread by county due to multiple reporting agencies and differing definitions by agency/county
  • Deaths: 429 (Up 38)
  • Total Texas Cases: 17,263 (Up 974)
  • Texas mortality rate is 2.5% (Up .1%) (Pending infections less than two weeks)
  • 1,459 lab confirmed COVID-19 patients currently receiving hospital care (Down 79)
  • 3,677 Recovered (Up 527)

Regional:

  • 401 cases in Lubbock (up 34)
  • 28 deaths in Lubbock county (Up 3)
  • 127 cases recovered in the South Plains area (Up 23)
  • 465 confirmed cases on the South Plains (Up 37)
  • 10 diagnosed cases in Terry county (No change)
  • 4 Terry county case recovered
  • Texas Tech Health Sciences Center has developed an approved method to sanitize N-95 respirators using vaporized hydrogen peroxide and has begun processing respirators
