Both the Fillie and Mustang Power Lifting teams recently competed in a meet held in Seagraves.
This was the last chance for girls to qualify for the regional meet and unfortunately no one from the Fillies side qualified, but several had personal bests.
On the boys side Ramon Zubiate-did not medal, PR Squat-335 and PR total of 900,
Julio Quintero-Did not medal, PR Dead Lift-255, Ivan Trinidad-Did not medal, PR Squat-295, PR Bench-225, PR Dead Lift-350, PR total of 870, Adam Velasco-1st place, PR Bench-430—–currently 1st in the region and 5th in the state, Manny Gonzalez-Did not medal-PR Squat-355, PR Bench-240, PR total of 935, and Damian Pena-5th Place and currently 12th in the region.
For the Fillies Kaycee Valenzuela finished 7th Place-PR Bench-80, PR total-440, Nikaya Ontiveros also finished in 7th Place-PR Squat-250, PR Dead Lift-245, PR total-600, Alex Marin-Did not medal-PR Bench-115, PR total-525, and Yadhira Madrid-PR Squat-130, PR Bench-70, PR Deadlift-185, PR Total-385.
“I am proud of these girls,” Coach Tony Livingston said. “They did an awesome job this season and got better every week. They will all be coming back next year with goals of making to regionals and hopefully even farther.”
