Yolanda D. Wilburn, 52, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on Feb. 13, 2015. Yolanda was born on Dec. 29, 1962, in Brownfield, Texas, to the parentage of Dethel and Willie Wilburn. Yolanda accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church until she relocated to Lubbock. She attended Brownfield Public and participated in band, basketball and track. She attended Texas Tech and studied Child Development. Yolanda was employed with LISD for 17 years working with children with disabilities. Yolanda had a passion for life and helping people. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dethel and Willie Wilburn; grandparents, Emma and John Mosley; one sister, Barbara Flournoy. She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Jamarick High (Brittany); two daughters, Tameka Green and LaTeffia High; four sisters, two brothers, four grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at 1 p.m., at Agape Temple COGIC. Interment will follow at Mt Zion Cemetery in Brownfield, Texas. Visitation will be held today from 3 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary.
