The Wellman-Union Lady Cats took on Rotan on Tuesday evening and improved their record to 1-1. The Lady Cats took on Class 3A Littlefield at home on Saturday, Aug. 11, and lost in four sets, however, the sets were very close losses. However, the Lady Cats bounced back and swept Rotan 25-21, 25-22, & 25-17.
In the 1st set, the Lady Cats had to come from behind to win. At one point they were seven points behind Rotan, however rallied to take the lead. In set two, Rotan got the first score, but then the Lady Cats had a 5-0 run which would help set them up to take the second set. In the third set, it was the Lady Cats who dominated the floor and the net.
Next up for the Lady Cats is the Littlefield Tournament on Thursday – Saturday, Aug. 17 -19, 2023, then they’ll come back home Tuesday, Aug. 22 to take on Talkington.
