Texas Tech Ph.D. Student offering free parenting seminar

by Eric

Brianna Ricker is a Ph.D. student in clinical psychology at Texas Tech University. Ricker is reaching out because she is currently coordinating a research study aimed at supporting local families in our community.

Ricker said, “We are excited to offer parents of children between the ages of 2-12 years old the opportunity to attend three free online positive parenting seminars. These seminars are designed to equip parents with valuable tools and strategies to foster healthy child development and promote positive parent-child relationships.”

According to Ricker, the seminars will cover a range of topics, including:

  • Encouraging good behavior
  • Managing misbehavior effectively
  • Building confidence in parenting
  • Fostering confidence and competence in children
  • Teaching children how to manage strong emotions

“We believe that these seminars will be beneficial to any parent or caregiver who is interested in enhancing their parenting skills and supporting their child’s emotional and behavioral development.”

As an incentive for participation, Ricker is offering parents the opportunity earn between $25-40 for their involvement in the study.

Ricker went on to say, “We would greatly appreciate it if you could share the attached flyer about our project on your social media accounts. By spreading the word, we hope to reach as many families as possible and provide them with some additional resources and information.”

If this something you are interested in and if you have any questions or would like further information about our project, please feel free to contact Ricker at 713-252-6532 or via email at brianna.ricker@ttu.edu
