The Texas High School Basketball preseason rankings were released last week, and the Brownfield Runnin’ Cubs are set to begin the season ranked #21 in Class 3A. While the boys’ basketball teams in Texas have yet to play any games, the girls’ teams have been in action since last Friday, November 1st.
It’s worth noting that in the 2A and 1A for girls’ basketball, two prominent teams, Whiteface (2A) and Whitharral (1A), are currently not in the Top 25 rankings. Both of these teams have a rich history in girls’ basketball, so expect them to break into the Top 25 in the near future.
In Class 4A, nine out of the Top 25 teams come from Region I, which accounts for 36% of the rankings. Don’t be surprised if Bridgeport and LBK Estacado also make their way into the Top 25, potentially increasing Region I’s representation to 44%.
