Soyla Marroquin Vasquez, age 70 passed from this life on April 10, 2015 in Lubbock.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church in Brownfield with Pastor Tobias Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow at Brownfield Cemetery in Brownfield. Personal services have been entrusted to Mark A Jones Funeral Directors of Brownfield.
Soyla was born to Alfredo and Manuela Marroquin on August 27, 1944 in Floresville, Texas. She moved to San Antonio in 1973. On May 11, 1980, she married Joaquin Camarillo Vasquez in Denver City, Texas. Together they moved to Wellman in 1994. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2004.
Her hobbies were cooking, gardening, crafts, crocheting, shopping, going out, listening to music and dancing. Her family remembers what a strong lady she was and how strong her faith was. Soyla was a kind hearted, playful, person. She had a great sense of humor and loved joking around. She would go out to the cemetery to keep up with her siblings resting place. Her desire was that her family stayed close.
Those left to cherish her memories are 2 sons: Mauro Arregsola Arteaga, Jr and wife Johanna Gonzalez of Lake Brownwood and Johnny Joe Vasquez and wife Sandra of Wellman; 4 Daughters: Maria Luisa Vasquez of Denver City, Amanda Rubio and husband Roberto Vasquez and Paula Arteaga all of Brownfield and Valeria Enzi Vasquez and husband Exain of Opelousas, Louisiana. She was also blessed with 16 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 1 son: Abel Vasquez; 1 daughter: Amanda Arteaga; 1 granddaughter: Rebecca Leann Rivas; 1 grandson: AJ Vasquez; 4 brothers: Alfredo, Amador (Amos), Pedro and Joe Raymond Marroquin and 3 sisters: Delfina Flores, Lydia Servantez and Maria Martinez.
