A graveside service will be held for Shirley Ridlehuber at 10 am on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Terry County Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Brownfield Funeral Home.
Shirley Ridlehuber, 81, of Stinnett, TX passed away on July 11, 2020. She was born on August 8, 1938 in Ovalo, TX to Willie Richard “Bill” and Bertha Lovella (Day) Marsh. Shirley spent her childhood in Brownfield and attended Brownfield schools. She went on to attend Nursing School and found her calling in caring for people – she was a career nurse for over 40 years. Shirley also cared deeply for her family! She was a loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family describes her as “fun-loving” with a beautiful smile and a great laugh. She loved to laugh and enjoyed being a “cut up” to inspire laughter in others. Shirley had a fondness for playing games like Wahoo or various card games and she enjoyed working on puzzle books. She was also a great cook and her family will miss her banana pudding and her turkey and dressing. More than anything, they will miss the countless loving ways she poured into their lives. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Bertha Marsh and her sister, Betty Jo Hungerford.
Shirley Ridlehuber is survived by 2 daughters, Val Ridlehuber of Stinnett and Cindy Benedict and husband Jack of Lubbock; 3 grand-daughters, Jodee Smith and husband Chris, Brandee Bowen and husband Bubba, and Kristen Williams and husband Slater; 4 grandsons, Braden Benedict, Rocky Ferguson, Jr., Dustin Ferguson and wife Denise, and Stonie Ferguson; and 6 great-grandchildren, Destiny Ferguson, Rocky Ferguson III, J.R. Bowen, Jasper Smith, Riot Williams and Ryler Bowen. Shirley leaves behind a wonderful legacy in her family and she will forever be cherished in their hearts!
