Joint funeral services for Ronnie G. Rains of Brownfield and Violetta Rains will be held 10 am Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Plains. Burial will follow at the Plains Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
There will be a family visitation on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Brownfield Funeral Home from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Ronnie passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, in Lubbock. He was born February 18, 1954, in Lamesa to Carl and Violetta “Griffin” Rains. He graduated from Plains High School in 1972 and then attended South Plains College. Ronnie married Francy Taylor on August 18, 1979, in Brownfield. He farmed in the Tokio area for over 40 years and served on the board of the Tokio COOP Gin. He was employed as manager at Carter and Company Irrigation in Brownfield for over 20 years. Ronnie attended Plains First United Methodist Church. Ronnie was an avid family man who loved life and had a great sense of humor.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Violetta Rains, and a brother, Alton C. Rains.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Francy Rains of Brownfield; son, Beau Rains, and wife, Lachrisa, of Tokio; daughter, Carly Goheen and husband, Jeremy, of Lubbock; 4 grandchildren, Aydon Lidzy, Adleigh Goheen, Taylor Rains and Taitlyn Rains; and several nieces and nephews.
