Graveside Services for Richard Bland Turner Jr., 91, of Denver City will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 16, 2021 in the Denver City Memorial Park with Rev. Kyle Streun officiating, under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City.
Richard passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in Denver City, Texas.
Richard was born on March 26, 1930 to Richard and Elsa Turner. He graduated High School in Albany in 1948 and attended McMurry University before joining the United States Navy in 1950, where he served for five years during the Korean conflict. Richard married Wanda Ruth Jones on February 14, 1957 in Lovington, New Mexico. He worked for Shell Oil Company as Production Foreman for thirty-three years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Ruth Turner March 14, 2019.
Richard is survived by his son Mark Turner and his wife Cynthia of Idalou; two daughters Lee Ann Peeler and her husband Rynn of Denver City, Lynna Solis and her husband Sam of Rockport; five grandchildren Jessica Peeler, Allison Bennett, Lindsey Jacaman, Brent Turner, Kyle Solis; along with three great grandchildren Gavin Jacaman, Grayson Jacaman, Cora Turner.
Family Visitation will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel, Denver City, Texas.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Yoakum County Senior Citizens Home Hospice of Andrews.
