Ramona Contreras, age 75 passed from this life on March 11, 2016 in Brownfield.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 10:00 A.M., at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Edwardo Teo officiating. Personal services have been entrusted to Mark A Jones Funeral Directors of Brownfield.
Ramona was born to Antonio and Anita Contreras on April 25, 1940 in FT. Worth, TX.
She married Juan V. Lira in 1982 in Brownfield. Ramona loved traveling with her husband and embroidering, she also enjoyed sewing blankets and crocheting. Her family will tell you how loving, caring and special she was. She was always there when her kids needed her. She will be missed by many.
Those left to cherish her memory are 2 sons: Joseph Contreras and wife, Heather of Lubbock; Nicolas Contreras of Brownfield; 4 daughters: Maria Juanita Peres and husband, George of Orlando, FL; Guadalupe Leija and husband, Severo of Dallas; Esperanza Reyes and husband, Santiago of Seminole; Amy Contreras and husband, Pete Mendez of Brownfield; 4 brothers: Carlos, Juan, Victor, and Mario Contreras all of Brownfield; 3 sisters: Anita Rios , Estella Contreras and Veronica Contreras all of Brownfield; 4 dogs: Chita, Nickita, Weida, and Osita who she loved dearly. She was all so blessed with 25 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 1 daughter: Madgalend Barrera; 3 brothers Jesus Antonio, Domingo and Alfonso Contreras; 2 sisters: Maria Rodriguez, Juanita Contreras; 1 grandson: Fedencio Contreras.
