Just in time for the holidays, new lights are going up around The Square. This is all a part of the downtown grant received by the City of Brownfield.
We have seen new sidewalks and curbs, with some work still happening on the west side. And the next step is the new lights.
These lights are a vintage style and will certainly add beauty to the downtown area. Utility Department Superintendent Cat Gonzales stated, “We are really proud of these lights. They will be LED, so they will not only add beauty and character, they will also provide added safety.”
The lights are also equipped with a plug up high near the globe so lighted garland can be wound around them at Christmas time.
The light installation should be mostly completed in the next couple of weeks and then we will see them shining brightly! What a great place in which to live!
