Mont Muldrow

Mont Muldrow passed away at his home in Hawley, Texas after a lengthy illness on April 6, 2022. He was 82. He was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and was the second son of Alvan and Vera (Kennedy) Muldrow. When his father joined the war effort in 1942, the family moved to Brownfield, Texas. Mont graduated from Brownfield High School in 1958.

Mont attended the University of Oklahoma and was a proud member of Beta Theta Pi and participated in Army ROTC. Mont graduated as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1962 and served in Landstuhl, Germany. He received his honorary discharge in 1966 and returned with his family to manage the operations at Muldrow Farms in Terry County, where he enjoyed tailgate lunches of sardines and crackers and the social hour at the cotton gin on the way home.

Mont was a 32nd degree Mason serving the Lubbock Scottish Rite and chaired several committees including the Scottish Rite Dormitory Foundation. He is a Past President of the Brownfield Rotary Club, was a prolific reader, loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting and was a devoted mule skinner and horseman.

Mont is survived by his beloved wife Melinda, his sons Kelly (Satu) of Bainbridge Island, Washington, and Brook of Norman, Oklahoma, and grandchildren Cole, Cade, Abraham, and Eleanor. He is further survived by stepchildren Missy, Lloyd, and Mandy, grandchildren Stetson, Savannah, Haskel, Harrison, Christian, Jett, Lauren & Jourdan, and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Hal Kennedy “Ken” Muldrow of Brownfield.
