Mary Fisher turned 80 years old this week and with a sweet smile and lovely purple hair, she stated, “I plan to keep on working until the good Lord takes me home.”
Mary has been employed as a health care aide for BRMC Home Health since 2009, and is still working each day.
Prior to working for BRMC, Mary has worked as an aide at both nursing homes in Brownfield, as well as working as a cook at the Brownfield Country Club for 10 years. “I am a great cook,” Mary told TownTalk News.
Mary also worked for First National Bank (now Lone Star State Bank) for 36 years.
Mary stated, “I have enjoyed working my whole life. God has made it possible for me to work this long and I will continue to work until He calls me home.”
Starla Sessums, Director of BRMC Home Health said, “Mary is such a hard worker and we get great reviews on her from those with whom she has worked. She is just a pleasure to be around.”
Mary just smiled and said, “I just want to help anybody I can. That is why I’m here.”
Mary has 10 children and several grandchildren.
Mary said, in closing, “As long as I have strength and health, I will be at work.”
Congratulations to Mary on her birthday, but also for her great faith in God and her tremendous work ethic. We could use more like her.
