How do you picture heaven? Do you spend much time thinking about it? I think, as you get older, you spend a little more time wondering what heaven will be like. I had the opportunity once, to go inside a “temple” of a different religion. After they had built it, they opened it up for everyone else, before they sanctified it for their own people. As a part of this building, they had built, what our tour guide referred to as “an exact replica of what heaven is like.” Anyway, this room was pure white with solid gold crystal chandelier’s. It had white carpet and French provincial style furniture that was white with gold accents. We were told to stay perfectly quiet as we moved around the room and just take in what heaven would actually be like.
Well, I am not sure they have a clue what heaven will really be like. I don’t think any of us really know. We can all make a guess about it. I don’t suppose it hurts anything. We do have the book of Revelation and few other references in our Bibles, but the truth is that we really cannot even begin to imagine what it will really be like. We don’t have any idea what those first moments will be like. We don’t have any clue about what all eternity there will be. All I know for sure is I will be there! I hope you know that too!
And that is the point of all this. I need you, really need you to know for sure that you will be with me in heaven one day. I listened this week, in a meeting with youth, as students talked about how different their lives were once they gave their hearts to Jesus. It was so great to hear these kids tell their peers what a difference having Jesus in their lives makes. Unashamedly standing in front of others and telling about their lives before and after Jesus. Oh what hope it gave me to hear them tell their friends about Jesus.
So my question to you today is this, have you accepted Jesus as your Savior? Has He forgiven your sins? Are you trying each day to live for Him? It is not hard. It is not a burden. It is just a way of living your life that brings honor to the Name of Jesus each day.
You may say, well I have gone to church my whole life. I know I’m going to heaven. But, has there been that moment in your life when you truly did bow your head and intentionally ask Him to be the Lord of your life. Have you had that moment where you confess you are a sinner and ask Him to forgive you?
Oh my friends! Don’t let another minute pass without being sure that you belong to Him! It is a life that you can’t imagine! Knowing that He is with you all the way through, and knowing He will one day take you home to live with Him forever! It gets no better.
Ask Jesus to come and live in your heart today. It will make a difference!
