The scripture I used this morning for my scripture text I send to several people was found in 1 Samuel 12:7. It says, “Now stand here quietly before the LORD as I remind you of all the great things the LORD has done for you and your ancestors.” What a powerful verse this is! And such good advice for all of us. There are so many times that we do need to slow down and stand quietly before the LORD and remember how faithful He has been.
This has been a big week in my eyes. We learned recently that a little baby in our church that had been so severely ill has been called healed. I was talking to her family Sunday in Sunday school, and they agreed it was nothing short of a miracle. A friend of mine who has had battles with cancer was having another go round and her doctor suddenly announced that she was cancer free! All her scans showed negative! Another miracle. And finally, a child that I call my own has been having her own struggle with cancer and she too was declared absolutely cancer free this week! Praise God for all His work and blessings!
These are just a few most recent stories of what I have seen God do. We often times get bogged down in the day to day struggles with life. Sometimes, we just don’t even know where to turn next or what to do. This is the exact time we need to stop our struggling and stand before the LORD and let our minds go back and remember the great things God has done and how He has always kept His promises. Oh I would have to stand there for a very long time! God has done so many wonderful things in my life! My Bible is almost a diary of those great things, as I have dates and notes by verses all throughout my Bible showing where God was working for me.
This is also why we need to be sure our children know our stories, so they can also rely on our memories of how very good a God we serve. They need to know their heritage of the faithfulness of God. Do your kiddos know your stories?
Stand quietly before the LORD each day and remember the great and wonderful ways of this loving Father. He is waiting for you! These promises kept and the absolute faithfulness of our God makes the difference!
