I was listening to a song this morning called, “These are the Words I Would Say.” This song is about a guy thinking about what he would say to his friend if he could see him face to face. It doesn’t really tell you what the friend is going through, but I love the words that he says he would say to him.
He says, “Be strong in the Lord. Never give up hope. You are going to do great things, I already know. God’s got His hand on you, so don’t live life in fear. Forgive and forget, but don’t forget why you’re here. Take your time and pray. These are the words I would say.” I love these words! I was thinking about whether or not I could add anything to what he was saying here, but I don’t really think I can.
The best advice you can give others is to be strong in the Lord. Don’t find a false strength in anything else. Our strength comes from God, and God alone.
Never give up hope, and you are going to do great things are such words of encouragement. God made us for greatness in all things. He has never created anyone without a plan for their life.
Then, God’s got His hand on you. Oh my goodness! What a blessing those words and that knowledge is! We do not have to live our life in fear, because we do, indeed, serve a God who has His hand on us daily.
Forgive always and work hard on forgetting the wrongs others have done to us. But never forget why we are here.
And lastly, take your time and pray. Consulting God on a daily basis makes such a difference in your life. Talking to Him. Listening for Him. Letting Him guide your every move can make such a lasting difference in your life. An eternal difference.
The song finishes with “Thank God for each day.” How many times do we end a day without being grateful to God for helping us through each day? Let’s pose the question another way, How many times do you end the day by thanking God for the blessings of the day, no matter how big or small.? God does certainly have His hand on us each day. He is not forcing His will on anyone, but is standing there ready and waiting to guide you and offer you direction.
Use these words to guide your life and use these words to encourage others. It will make a difference!
