Hasn’t the rainfall been great! Farmers are grinning from ear to ear, and everybody ought to be! We have been so dry for so long. Rainfall has always been my favorite weather. There is just something peaceful and calming to me about hearing and seeing the rainfall. I think our souls get parched, just like our soil does.
I was having a deep discussion earlier today with some ladies about where our world is today. There is so much out there that is being called right and good that is actually wrong and bad. There is so much that, in my opinion, is being forced on us, even though it is exactly opposite of what God’s Word teaches us. It is heartbreaking. And the sad thing is that we don’t even know exactly how we got to this point! I think we just weren’t paying close enough attention to what was going on around us. And suddenly, here we are!
We have to start being very intentional about what we pour into our hearts and minds. And, more importantly, what we are allowing to be poured into our children! Jesus says very clearly, in Mark 9:42 “If anyone causes one of these little ones to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.” He is very serious about us being sure we are teaching our children His truths! We cannot continue to allow our children to be misled by someone else’s agenda of so called “politically correct behavior.”
The Bible is also very clear about calling wrong right. In Isaiah 5:20, it states, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness. Woe to those who are wise and shrewd in their own sight!” God is not a fan!
But, we were warned these days would come. In 2 Timothy 4:3, Paul writes “For the time is coming when people will not listen to sound teaching, but having itching ears, they will find for themselves teachers who suit their own passions.” Is this not exactly what we are seeing today?? People are working overtime to find a way to justify their wrong behaviors, and if that were not enough, they are being allowed to try to force the rest of the world into following along, or being labeled a “hater.”
Back to the beginning. We are living in a world that is parched and dry, and so very desperate for the Word of God to be poured into their lives. They may not know that is what they are looking for, but it is the truth. Our world needs Jesus, plan and simple. There is a call on each of our lives to be that witness that the world needs that will show others that the absolutely only way to heaven, and the only way to peace is through Jesus Christ. The. Only. Way. Be so very sure that you are a light for God in what is fast becoming a very dark place.
The only way to make a difference is through following Jesus Christ. Make a difference today.
