Monday night, before the rains came, was a big night at the BHS Tennis Courts. A crowd watched as Lexie Nave signed her letter of intent to continue her stellar tennis career at Howard Payne University. “I picked Howard Payne because I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ and they had a tennis program I want to be a part of, and they had my major,” stated Lexie. Howard Payne is a Baptist university in Brownwood.
Coach Rich Hammons stated, “Lexie has a 90% winning average in her Senior year and 80% overall four years. She is a hard worker and we are going to miss her.”
The other seniors graduating are Matthew Perry, Noah Salas, Lexie Nave, Julie Enns and Jacob Clark. All were recognized as All District players on the team.
Coach Hammons stated, “This is a special group. We didn’t like how our season ended this year, but we had some good times with these guys. They have over 600 individual wins in their careers at BHS. We are really going to miss these guys.
