Lady Cubs Volleyball win Bi-District Championship

The Brownfield Lady Cubs fought fiercely for their victory against the Tulia Lady Hornets during their bi-district playoff game at Estacado High School. Libby Guerra lead the team in game 1 with 6 digs, followed by Madison Hord with 4. Gaby Fields and Dabria Blackwell both contributed 2 kills each, and Gaby Fields executed 2 successful blocks. Although the scores rose steadily, the Lady Cubs won the first set 25-16. During the second set, the Lady Cubs seemed to get more aggressive with 6 kills by Tia Johnson and 4 by Gaby Fields. Madison Hord led with 8 digs as well as 4 ace serves, followed by Deja Johnson with 2 aces, winning the set with a score of 25-17. The third set brought the Lady Cubs closer to their victory, with Madison Hord, Lindsey Herara, and Dabria Blackwell all getting 3 digs. Dabria Blackwell and Tia Johnson hit 3 kills each, followed by Gaby Fields with 2 kills, as well as 1 ace serve each from Alex Campbell and Dabria Blackwell. The Lady Cubs secured the playoff win with a score of 25-13, bringing home the Bi-District Champions golden ball.
