It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Karla Cabe Hope, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and a pillar of her community. Born on November 21, 1962, in Lubbock, Texas, Karla was the treasured daughter of Conrad and Norma Cabe. She was raised in Brownfield, Texas, alongside her two older sisters, Patti and Sandy Cabe. Karla graduated from Brownfield High School in 1981 and pursued higher education at Angelo State University.
In 1985 Karla married her high school sweetheart, Richard Hope, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, enriching their lives and those around them. Karla’s life was a testament to her devout faith. Her unwavering relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, provided her with solace and strength throughout her life. She found immense joy and fulfillment in her role as a homemaker, dedicating herself to raising their three children-Jared (34), Ragan (33), and Landon (29). Her strong Christian faith and traditional family values continue to inspire and influence her children and their families.
As her children grew older, Karla ventured into entrepreneurship, owning and operating Hulla B’ Lu of Lubbock. Her business acumen and community involvement earned her respect and admiration from her peers and neighbors. Karla’s vibrant presence and contributions to the community were both valued and impactful.
Her greatest joy in life was being “Kiki” to her seven beloved grandchildren: Corbin (6), Lawson (4), Amelia (3), Palmer (1), Ana (9 months), Lucy (1 month) and with baby girl Hope due in August. Kiki devoted herself wholeheartedly to their upbringing, always planning her activities around their schedules in order to create cherished memories.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Sanders Funeral Home. A service celebrating Karla’s life will be held at Monterey Church of Christ on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with graveside services to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Karla was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad Cabe and Norma Fore Cabe, and sister Patti Cabe McGuire. She is survived by her husband, Richard Hope; son and daughter-in-law Jared and Kelsy Hope; daughter and son-in-law Ragan and Alex Mladenovic; son and daughter-in-law Landon and Brianna Hope; grandchildren Corbin Hope, Lawson Hope, Amelia Hope, Palmer Hope, Ana Mladenovic, Lucy Hope, and an additional granddaughter due in August; and sister Sandy Cabe Meeks.
