Memorial services for Jim Cornett, 88, of Seagraves will be at 10:00 am, Friday, August 24, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Seagraves. Officiating will be Reverend Dan Reynolds, pastor. Services are under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home Seagraves.
Jim died Sunday, August 19, 2018, in Brownfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born to the late Elbert and Mary Mullins Cornett August 29, 1929 in Plainview, Texas. He graduated from Seagraves High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He married Jean Reneau June 7, 1980, in Lovington, NM. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Seagraves and a member of AA. He was preceded in death by two sons Jimmy Cornett and Bobby Lambert; also a grandchild Clifton Ochoa and a son-in-law Mikel Vance and sister, Edith Francis.
Survivors include his wife Jean of Seagraves; two sons, Jerry Cornett and wife Tanya of Seminole, and Kenny Lambert of Bedford, Texas; four daughters, Denyse Shaver and husband Jimmy of Brownfield, Connie Ochoa and husband Junior of Seagraves, LeJean Van and husband Walt of Lamesa and Deborah Vance of Elephant Butte, NM.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist.
