Welcome back to Horton’s Pick ‘Ems. I went 40-10 last week. Most games are from the West Texas area, which includes the South Plains, Panhandle, Permian Basin, Big Country, and Concho Valley. In the list below, there are 97 games in Week 7, Oct. 10-12, 2024. Games with the # next to it mean they are district games. The school (team) on the left is Eric Horton’s pick. We encourage you all to pick which team will win.
Most teams should already be district action this week, with the exception of Dist. 1-3A DI, 2-3A DI, and 3-4A DI. Oddly enough all 12 teams from those three districts are playing each other this week. A couple of top games this week. Lubbock High and Monterey will have the 67th Battle of the Silver Spurs. You never know what could happen in a rivalry game! Another game to highlight is the #2 Stratford Elk vs #10 Gruver Greyhounds. This should be for the district title. Gruver is looking for an upset bid. One more game should be great… New Deal vs Post. The Antelopes are one of the only undefeated teams in West Texas, but the Lions are hungry to get back to that District Title image! We’ll see.
