Firefighter Transported to Hospital Following Brownfield Structure Fire

by Eric

Brownfield Fire & Rescue responded to a structure fire at approximately 6:45 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2026, near the southwest corner of East Broadway Street and A Street.

When firefighters arrived, flames were visible at the rear of the residence. Wind carried sparks from the burning structure across the street, igniting a nearby vacant lot and creating a second area firefighters had to contain, with the help of the Brownfield police.

Brownfield Fire & Rescue worked to bring both fires under control, while officers with the Brownfield Police Department and personnel from BRMC EMS also responded to the scene.

During the emergency response, one firefighter was transported by ambulance for treatment. The nature and extent of the firefighter’s injuries were not immediately available.

Firefighters returned to the scene three additional times overnight after the fire rekindled. The cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage remain under investigation, and no additional information has been released.
