February 24, 1946 – October 16, 2023

Elizabeth Carole Cates Key was born in Brownfield, Texas on February 24, 1946, to P.R. and Cordia Cates. Carole was called home by her Lord and Savior on October 16, 2023. Carole was a graduate of Brownfield High School in 1964 and attended several colleges, eventually attending Radiology School. Her primary focus was Mammography. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Glenn Hull III, who was killed in a plane crash while searching for his missing friend. Carole moved back to Brownfield at this time to live with her parents and to complete her education. In 2010, Carole married Kilmer Key, they traveled to the West Coast frequently enjoying life and family. Kilmer preceded her in death in 2019 and continued their business, K&S Supply. She was very active in The Rainbow Girls where she was a state officer. Carole, also, had a deep love for animals.
Carole is survived by two nephews, Rick Cates and Phil Cates and a niece Cathy (Ernest) Berry, which she loved more like 2 brothers and a sister;brother-in-law, Ronald Key and wife, Arden; a god-daughter Terri Murphy Levens; a god-granddaughter Jalyn Levens; a long time best friend Jan Swearingen; dear friends Joe and Lola Hobbs, and Mike and Misty Oliver; and her business associate Sheila Griffin.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, First Baptist Church, or the South Plains SPCA.
Graveside service to be held at City of Lubbock Cemetery at 11:00 AM November 3rd, 2023
