Elida Mendoza, 61, of Brownfield, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on November 1, 2023.
Elida aka “Ellie” was born on April 3, 1962, in Levelland, Texas to Emilio and Maria Mendez. She was the ninth child among eleven children.
Elida resided in Brownfield, Texas her whole life until she relocated to Lubbock, Texas along with her oldest son in 2018. She was known to be very sweet, and quiet, and let you know she was there for you, even just to sit and listen. Ellie enjoyed spending time with family, especially when all siblings got together reminiscing childhood memories, and creating new ones.
She also enjoyed listening to music, crossword puzzles, sudoku, playing games on her phone, and spending as much time as she could with her grandkids.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children; son, Carlos Medez; son, Jacinto Mendez; & daughter, Clarissa Mendez all of Lubbock, Texas. Along with 7 grandchildren, Gabriela, Hezekiah, Avan, Amaziah, Rebekah, Legacy, & Elida.
Elida Mendoza is preceded in death by both parents, Emilio and Maria Mendez; brother, Juan Mendez; son, Jaime Mendoza; and two granddaughters, Avery Cruz & Genesis Carrillo.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm-8 pm with rosary to be cited at 7 pm, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Grace Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Terry County Cemetery in Brownfield, Texas.
Pallbearers will include; Adrian Morales, Alex Martinez, David Garcia, Jacob Mendez, Joe Medina, & Mario Gonzalez.
