  • Total infections: 609,685 (Up 27,091)
  • 49,966 recovered (Up 5,658)
  • 26,059 deaths (Up 2,410)
  • After several days of declining deaths an increase in deaths set a new record for daily deaths on April 14th
  • Current mortality rate in U.S. is 4.3% (up .2%) (Pending infections less than two weeks)
  • U.S. mortality rate is trending up, despite increased testing criteria to find more cases
  • Small decrease in the number of new daily diagnosis and deaths

Texas: 

  • 181 Texas counties reporting cases (Up 3)
  • No longer able to report community spread by county due to multiple reporting agencies and differing definitions by agency/county
  • Deaths: 362 (Up 66)
  • Total Texas Cases: 15,343 (Up 838)
  • Texas mortality rate is 2.4% (Up .4%) (Pending infections less than two weeks)
  • 1,409 lab confirmed COVID-19 patients currently receiving hospital care (Up 233)
  • 2,580 Recovered (Up 311)

Regional:

  • 330 cases in Lubbock (up 13)
  • 25 deaths in Lubbock county (Up 4)
  • 87 cases recovered in the South Plains area (Up 7)
  • 390 confirmed cases on the South Plains (Up 15)
  • 10 diagnosed cases in Terry county (No change)
  • 4 Terry county case recovered
