Even though it is not in the local news nearly as much as it once was, COVID-19 is still around and cases are still being counted and treated. Our area certainly seems to be in a definite decline, as there has been only one new case confirmed in Terry County recently, and currently we show no active cases.
The other counties in our five county region covered by the South Plains Public Health Department are showing pretty much the same numbers as Terry County. Total numbers show 11 active cases still in the SPPHD area.
Lubbock County, which, let’s face it, we all travel to pretty regularly, still has fairly high numbers.
Don’t let your guard down. Don’t think it is all over. We have learned over the last year that things can change in a heartbeat.
