Clarence Nieman of New Home passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the age of 77. He was born August 23, 1943, in Slaton, TX to the late Willie Gus Nieman and Olga (Schneider) Nieman. Clarence married Darlene Lowrey on June 3, 1962. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2020. Clarence worked as a farmer for many years before retiring. He also was a country music singer and song writer. He wrote one song that made it number 3 on the Independent Album chart and was recognized on the Cashbox Magazine chart. Clarence was a member of the house band at the Meadow Musical from year one and continued playing there for almost 50 years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Debi Nieman and significant other Scott Raines, Shannon Gonzales and husband Joe and Robbi Nieman; seven grandchildren, Tyler Nieman and wife Jaime, Josh Nieman and wife Emily, Kali Stevens and fiancé Kevin Williams, Kassidi Sneed and husband Josh, Camryn Nieman, Kayla Gonzales and Addison Nieman; and five great-grandchildren, Merritt, Mason, Madilyn, Miller, and Mia Nieman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Clarence was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers, Norvin Nieman and Willie A. Nieman.

Open visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 with family receiving friends, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Meadow Musical Hall, 201 Mitchell Street in Meadow. Interment will follow at Green Memorial Cemetery in Wilson.
