Born December 26, 1937 in Brownfield, TX, in a box car to Floyd and Jessie Mae (Brumley) Baker. Cecil met and married his high school sweetheart Linda in 1954. They were married for 59 years.

Cecil was a business owner and loved the trucking industry. He was an avid fisherman who loved books, Texas Tech sports, and the Texas Rangers. Cecil was a longtime resident of Oxnard, CA and Lubbock, TX before moving to Kansas in 2013.

Cecil is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; son, Leonard Baker; grandson, Ryan Baker. He is survived by his son, Mike (Kris) Baker of Derby, KS; daughter, Rhonda (James) Bennett of Floresville, TX; daughter-in-law, Susan Baker; brother, Wiley (Sandra) Baker; sister, Louella (Glenn) Meyers; Grandchildren, Cody, Lauren, Amy, and Kathryn; two great-grandchildren, Tobias and Miranda.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday October 1, at South Rock Christian Church, 900 S. Rock Rd., Derby KS 67037. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Good Shepherd Hospice, Wichita, KS or South Rock Christian Church Derby, KS.
