January 31, 1957 – March 22, 2021
On March 22, 2021, Carla Gaye Thaggard Erwin went home to be with our Lord. Carla was born to Jerry Bill and Shirley Thaggard on January 31, 1957 in Bremerton, Washington.
In her final days she often requested Alexa to play country hymns. She sang along, tapped her feet and patted her leg as her little dog Bella laid faithfully by her side until the very end. When asked what she wanted as she died and after she passed, she replied, “I want my momma. I know that will hurt her but I want my momma.” Until the very end she was concerned with how everyone else was doing. She requested a party in her honor which will be scheduled at a later date.
She is preceded in death by her father Jerry Bill.
She leaves behind her mother, Shirley, her husband Eric Erwin, her brother Larry Thaggard and his wife Carolyn, her brother Jerry Wayne Thaggard, her children Kelli Scott and Tom Rowan, Keri and Matthew McDonald and Kati and Rusty McDonald. She is also survived by her grandchildren Zaccary Dewbre, Hagen Northcutt, Kateleigh Jones, Addison McDonald, Keller McDonald, Delaney Scott and Ian McDonald.
If you wish to honor her in some way please donate to a school near you or get your child’s teacher an awesome gift. She loved to support the school system and children every chance she could and would often buy teacher gifts for Addison and Ian to give to their teachers.
John 14:1-3 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.“
