Brownfield Lady Cub Volleyball notches another win

After a tough volleyball tourney in Shallowater over the weekend, the Brownfield Lady Cubs were ready to get back to winning. So on Tuesday night Aug. 16, the Lady Cubs traveled south to take on Class 4A Snyder and they were ready for a battle. The team competed very well with high energy and fought for every point. Coach Vander Dussen said, “From set to set we pushed ourselves and stayed focused on our goal.”

Leading the Lady Cubs kills was #2 Rhianna Miranda with 8, Also Brownfield had an excellent serving game with 15 aces across all 4 sets. The Lady Cubs took the win in four sets winning the first one 25-21. In the second set, the Lady Cubs and Lady Tigers found themselves in a very tight game and went to overtime losing 25-27, In the third set, Brownfield handled Snyder pretty well winning by 10 points 25-15. During the fourth set, the Lady Cats battled, however, won 25-21

The Lady Cubs have now improved to 3-4 on the season. Next up for the Lady Cats Volleyball squad is Tulia at home on Saturday, Aug. 19 with a first-serve time of 12:00 p.m. Then they travel over to Big Spring on Tuesday, Aug. 22 with a 6:00 p.m. serve time.
