BIDCorp Stimulus program huge success, all available money handed out

by admin

“It went quickly,” said Brian Brisendine, Executive Director of Brownfield Industrial Development Corporation, in talking about the newly announced BIDCorp Stimulus package.

The BIDCorp board was able to earmark $50,000 to be handed out locally in increments of $2,000 to businesses affected by the COVID-19 shutdown.

“We had 25 people come in right away and that took care of all we had. I wish we had more to hand out, but that is really all we can steer that direction, legally,” said Brisendine. “Everyone was grateful for what they got.”

Each person also received a poster to hang in their windows supporting Brownfield and the community.

Brisendine stated, “We have no more money to offer at this time, but if you do want a poster, I can certainly get you one of those, if you want to show your support for shopping local and doing business locally, whenever possible.”

Those posters will be available through the BIDCorp office at City Hall.
