On Saturday December 11, 2021, nine members of The Spirit of the Plains competed for membership in the ATSSB REGION 16 HONOR BAND.
Of the nine who auditioned, six earned chairs in the band. Of those who earned chairs, two qualified for the Area round of the ATSSB All-State process.
Director of Bands, Will Burks said, “Making the band is a great accomplishment and qualifying for Area is just the icing on the cake for these members of The Cub Band.”
Those who earned chairs are:
Jurnie Garcia- Flute
Aubree Valenzuela- Trumpet
Zephaniah Galindo – Trumpet
Jacob Arguellez- Tenor Trombone
Braden Conn – Euphonium
Olena Garcia- Percusssion
Olena and Braden earned the right to audition on January 8, 2022 at Levelland High School.
