On Monday morning, Feb. 5, 2024, 7B Construction broke ground on the construction of the new Tractor Supply on Tahoka Rd. In attendance with representatives of 7B, there were Brownfield city officials and Brownfield Industrial Development Corporation officials. According to JT Shelton, Vice President of Development for 7B Construction, the new Tractor Supply will be anywhere between 23,000 and 25,000 square feet and will include a greenhouse.

Brownfield City Manager Jeff Davis said, “The store is located in the city limits of Brownfield. I feel the groundbreaking of the store (Tractor Supply) is the beginning of some future development right here. This is a real positive for Brownfield and the Terry County community. It is always great when something new comes to town”
Davis also mentioned that the city has received approval by TxDOT to bore under US 380 to tie in and extend the water infrastructure to the area of the new Tractor Supply. Davis went on to say, “Tractor Supply is a great retail store, and with it being in the city, it will increase our sales tax revenue which always helps the city’s budget.”
Project Manager Trevor King stated that the project would take 210 days or 28 weeks (seven months) to finish the store. Shelton also reiterated that the City of Brownfield has been helpful throughout the process, “They have been very helpful telling us their process, they’ve had open communication with us and has been transparent in what we needed to do and has been done in a timely manner. Also, BIDCorp helped point us in the right direction, communicating with the Council and helping to make this project economically feasible” said Shelton.
Gina Kelly, Executive Director of BIDCorp said they began talks with Tractor Supply in December 2022. “It’s been great to see this come full circle. Also, it’s exciting to see some new jobs come to town as well. I’m so proud of the BIDCorp board and City Council for their help in this project.” said Kelly.
