Making a Difference

I have had an exciting time at my house recently. My house is over 70 years old. I love it, but with age comes maintenance. I had to have some rewiring done and a breaker box change. The old box was the same age as my house, and was becoming a little dangerous to depend on. So, it was changed, rewiring done, and I feel much safer. Then I came home from a trip to find my hot water heater had developed a leak. The date on the heater was 2008, so I think it served well. I have had new windows installed, as the old ones leaked so badly and were not a bit energy efficient. Lots of changes that age requires.

In our lives, change always comes. It is just inevitable. But the constant in our lives should always be Jesus Christ. When you feel like you need rewiring, go to God’s Word and get recharged and  reset. When your hot water heater has developed a leak and you feel like you are losing your warmth, go to God for that warming feeling of His arms around you. When you feel like your windows are leaking and letting the world in, go to God in prayer and ask Him to seal the leaks up in your life that are letting the things of the world sneak in.

All the ills of the world could be solved if we all turned our hearts and minds back to God. We are living in a time where it seems priorities have reversed and what was once right, is now considered wrong or out of touch. The truth of the matter is our God never changes, and I am going to say again what I have said so many times. If God ever called it wrong, it is still wrong today. If He called it right, it is still right today. His Ten Commandments have not changed and will not change. That could be why He wrote them in stone!

I have had many people tell me over the years that they just don’t feel like God is hearing them anymore. Rest assured, He hears all your prayers. You many need to make a change in your life to feel closer to where He is. My mom used to say, “If you don’t feel as close to God as you once did, He is not the one who moved.”

Get your heart and mind back to where God is and let Him reset the wiring in your life. Let Him warm your heart and soul. Let Him seal the cracks in your life. It will make a difference.
