The Terry County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, December 28 to conduct regular business.
As a part of their meeting, the Court did approve the adoption of the final redistricting lines for County Commissioner precincts. The new actual population breakdown for each precinct follows:
Precinct 1 – 2835
Precinct 2 – 2838
Precinct 3 – 2833
Precinct 4 – 2833
Interested parties may check with the Elections office to determine if their precinct was changed.
The Court also approved the purchase of a new truck for Precinct 3. Martin Lefevre is the Commissioner for this precinct.
Donations to the Sheriff’s Department were accepted from Birdsong Peanuts and A-Joker Towing. The total donation amount was $2,500. Donations to the Sheriff’s Department must be approved by the Commissioners and then go into the Sheriff’s General Fund.
There was also an approval of re-plating a lot in the Reinland Subdivision. Attorney Ryan Gentry presented this proposal to the Court. This is located south of Brownfield on State Highway 137.
The Commissioners Court will next meet on Monday, January 10, at 9 a.m. in the Basement Meeting Room of the Terry County Courthouse.
