The new gym at the new Brownfield High School campus came one step closer on Monday morning, November 22, as workers began pouring the concrete base for the gymnasium floor.
The site foreman for Sandia stated that it would take all morning to get the floor poured, and it would set up for walking by late afternoon and scoring would begin.
The new wood flooring will not be brought in until all the glass is completed. The foreman stated they are looking at mid December as a date for laying the flooring. There are still plans to be in the high school and possibly on the court this school year. It is lots more complete on the inside than it looks on the outside, and work is happening fast.
It was to take about 18 – 20 loads of concrete to finish the floor in the gym.
