United States:

  • Total infections: 1,721,926 (Up 21,993) 
  • Total Recoveries: 399,991 ( Up 8,483)
  • Total U.S. Deaths: 101,621 ( Up 1,179)
  • Current mortality rate in U.S. is 5.9% (No change)
  • Two recent cohort studies on the effects of COVID19 on cancer patients, active and in remission, showed that they had a 28% higher mortality rate and 50% higher hospital admission rate. Patients that were in remission had nearly the same increased mortality and hospitalization rates. 

Texas: 

  • Total Texas Cases: 60,416 (Up 1,874)
  • Highest reported new daily infections in Texas since the outbreak began
  • 38,905 Recovered (Up 1,279)
  • Deaths: 1,611 (Up 30)
  • Texas mortality rate is 2.7% (No change)
  • There are more recovered than active cases in Texas 
  • 230 Texas counties reporting active cases (No change)
  • 1,692 lab confirmed COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized (No change)
  • 15,315 total hospital beds available in Texas, 1,592 ICU beds available (No change)
  • 2.08 per 1,000 people in Texas have contracted COVID-19 (Up .07)

  • 50 deaths from Covid-19 in Lubbock (No change)
  • 15 Covid-19 patients hospitalized in Lubbock county (Up 6)
