United States:

  • Total infections: 466,299 (Up 33,861)
  • 26,522 recovered (Up 2,397)
  • 16,686 deaths (Up 1,878)
  • New infections have reached a near flat growth, small dip in number of daily mortalities
  • Current mortality rate in U.S. is 3.6% (up .2%) (Pending infections less than two weeks)
  • U.S. mortality rate is trending up, despite increased testing criteria to find more cases
  • Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington COVID-19 mortality projection has been reduced from 82,000 total deaths to 60,400 deaths
  • Antibody test to determine if a person has had a previous COVID-19 infection will be widely available within the next month

Texas: 

  • 170 Texas counties reporting cases (Up 3)
  • No longer able to report community spread by county due to multiple reporting agencies and differing definitions by agency/county
  • Deaths: 223 (Up 30)
  • Total Texas Cases: 11,483 (Up 1,406)
  • Texas mortality rate is 1.9% (No change) (Pending infections less than two weeks)
  • 1,439 lab confirmed COVID-19 patients currently receiving hospital care (Down 52)

Regional:

  • 234 cases in Lubbock (up 20)
  • 9 deaths in Lubbock county (Up 2)
  • 12 total combined deaths on the South Plains
  • 70 cases recovered in Lubbock (up 8)
  • 7 health care workers in Lubbock have COVID-19
  • 28 Lubbock COVID-19 patients hospitalized at this time
  • 279 confirmed cases on the South Plains (Up 21)
  • 7 diagnosed cases in Terry county (Up 1)
  • The three new Terry county cases remain under investigation
