- U.S. mortality rate is trending up, despite increased testing criteria to find more cases
- FDA has issued an emergency authorization for a coronavirus blood test. It is a serology test that would be able to identify past coronavirus infection, but may be less effective at identifying recent or active infection
- Per the CDC as many as 25% of people infected with corona virus may not show symptoms, but are contagious. CDC reports this will make containment measures less effective and might explain why it is continuing to spread despite strict quarantine and social distancing measures.
