Amarillo- Dorothy Pauline Weaver entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on July 10, 2018.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2018, at Ratliff Funeral Home in Denver City, TX with Pastor Kyle Streun officiating. Burial will be in Denver City Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo, TX.

Dorothy was born June 12, 1925, in Omaha, NB to Wilbur and Hazel Whited Thurber. At 18, she moved to San Diego, CA and went to work in the Rohr airplane factory, where she was in charge of the patterns used to manufacture various airplane components.

She married A.D. Weaver on March 13, 1944. The family settled in Denver City, TX where Dorothy taught piano lessons for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a pink lady at the Yoakum County Hospital. She worked at various retail stores including Margie’s Gift Shop, C.R. Anthony’s, Beall’s, and Dollar General. Dorothy was a writer, who published several articles in Good Old Days Magazine. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be dearly missed.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, A.D., and daughter, Jane Weaver Cox.

She is survived by son, Jack and wife Leslie, of Amarillo, TX, grandson Alex Weaver of Austin, TX, and granddaughter, Caroyl Scott Leach and husband Wayne, of Albuquerque, NM.

The family suggests any memorials be directed to BSA Hospice of the SW in Amarillo, TX.
