The Brownfield Lady Cubs Volleyball team has one final game before entering district play. Last Saturday, the Lady Cubs faced off against Tahoka and secured a much-needed victory. Their previous win this season was on August 15th against Estacado. The team is hoping to build momentum going into the district competition.
Tomorrow night, during Senior Night, the Lady Cubs will take on Talkington, which has finally entered a district this season. Both teams have defeated Estacado and Tahoka but have lost to Frenship Memorial and Ropes. While Brownfield won against Olton, Talkington did not.
After tomorrow night’s game, the Lady Cubs will enjoy a much-needed break with no games scheduled over the weekend. Come next Tuesday, September 23rd, Brownfield will travel to Denver City to face the #14 Fillies to kick off district play.

The Wellman-Union Lady Cats have one more game before they enter district play, similar to Brownfield. They are coming off a successful week, having won against Post and then against Rotan, which adds two more victories to their overall record. Tomorrow night, the Lady Cats will face a formidable Plains team, which has defeated them twice this season. However, there’s a saying that you don’t want to play the same team three times in one season. This could give the Lady Cats an advantage as they look to build momentum heading into district action.
After tomorrow night’s game, the Lady Cats will enjoy a much-needed break with no game scheduled for the weekend. Next Tuesday, they will begin district play against their arch-rival Loop, followed by a trip to Klondike next Saturday to take on the #14 Lady Cougars.
